IMAX 3D | Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince

I'm not reviewing the movie itself just the "3D" part of the movie. The 3D parts where very cool. BUT, it also lasted ONLY for 10 - 15 minutes at the start of the movie! It stops about when Dumbledore shows up. I thought maybe it would come back off and on throughout the movie. But sadly, it did not.

What an utter disappointment. First off, let me say that the film "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" is amazing which I thoroughly enjoyed. What is deplorable however is the marketed "3D" version. After watching the standard version of the film on opening weekend, we decided it would be great to re-live the whole adventure in 3D. I do hope that I am not the only person out there that feels like this version is falsely advertised and a rip off.

We excitedly entered the theater and donned our special glasses. Wow, it was fantastic feeling like you are soaring with the Death Eaters. Then we are at the scene with Harry and Dumbledore meeting with Professor Slughorn I actually felt like I was standing in the room with them. It was amazing! Then suddenly shortly after that scene(which takes place somewhere less than 30 minutes into the film) the screen goes funny with symbols flashing that indicate you need to remove your 3D glasses....okay. It will flash again and tell us when the next 3D bit starts right? Sadly no, not even in the wonderful cave scenes, or the climactic ending.

Am I wrong to feel angry and cheated when a movie being marketed as a 3D movie with a running length of 2 hours 33 minutes, ends up having only about 15-25 minutes worth of 3D, ONLY at the beginning and the rest of the movie is completely without ANY 3D??

I want my money back. What a sad disappointment.

Don't waste money on the "3D" experience.

The IMAX part of the experience was still great. The 3D was fun ... while it lasted. It seems like the 3D trailers before the movie might have lasted longer than the 3D parts in the movie, lol.
